What the certificate does

Registration, ownership and Polish nationality.

The Polish REJA24 registration certificate confirms the vessel’s Polish nationality and records ownership. The official system covers yachts and other qualifying watercraft under 24 metres and distinguishes recreational from commercial operation.

Registration is not the same as permission for every activity.A vessel must still satisfy the safety, technical, radio, crewing, insurance and local operating rules that apply to its use and cruising area.

Recreational registration: JR

A recreational yacht is registered for private use. Polish official guidance states that a recreational yacht cannot be used for commercial activity, including bareboat or crewed charter.

Commercial registration: JK

A commercial yacht follows a separate registration and operating pathway. Commercial seagoing yachts require a Yacht Safety Certificate regardless of size, together with applicable technical and manning compliance.

Before we submit

What we normally need to review.

The exact list depends on the owner, vessel history and intended use. We confirm the final checklist after the initial review.

02

Ownership chain

Bill of sale, builder’s certificate or other evidence showing how ownership passed to you.

Safety, radio and changes

What happens beyond registration.

The 15-metre safety threshold

A Yacht Safety Certificate is obligatory for seagoing recreational yachts longer than 15 metres. For recreational seagoing yachts up to 15 metres, official guidance recommends the certificate but does not make it obligatory. Commercial seagoing yachts require it regardless of size.

MMSI and ship radio licence

An MMSI is assigned through the Polish ship radio licensing process; it is not automatically created by the registration certificate. Radio equipment conformity documents and an appropriate operator certificate may be required.

Changes after registration

Owners must report relevant ownership or registered-data changes within the applicable deadline. Contact us before changing the boat name, engine, ownership, use or registration status.

Poland registration questions

Direct answers before you apply.

Can a non-Polish owner apply?

Polish registration services are available to many foreign individuals and companies, subject to the vessel, ownership evidence and intended use. Our assisted service handles the Polish-language filing and required translations.

Does the Polish certificate prove VAT-paid status?

No. Registration and customs or VAT status are separate matters. Keep the purchase, import and tax evidence relevant to your boat.

Can I charter a recreational Polish-registered yacht?

No. Official guidance states that a yacht registered as recreational is for private use and may not be used for bareboat or crewed charter. Commercial operation requires the correct category and additional compliance.

Is a survey always required?

Not in every private-yacht case. Requirements depend on use, size, conformity history and safety rules. Commercial seagoing yachts and recreational seagoing yachts over 15 metres have additional certification requirements.

When does the advertised timing start?

After we have received and accepted a complete document file. Missing ownership documents, translations, previous-registry evidence or technical information can delay submission or the registry decision.
